“Zero Zero” - Wines Made With no Added so2

To honor our hosts Zero Zero wine bar and to introduce you to another style of natural wine we decided to create a session dedicated to purely “zero zero” wines: wines made with no added sulphur. In the natural wine community it is generally accepted that wine should have very low to no amounts of added sulphur. Now as much as this is up for debate, we want to give you an experience of tasting through five zero-zero wines yourself. These wines often exude a vibrancy and energy as well as having the ability to evolve in remarkable ways that you might have not experienced in other wines. Come taste them for yourself and see what the hype is about!

Orange / Skin Contact / Amber Wines

It may look like a glass of orange juice, but orange (also known as skin-contact or amber) wine is about as far as possible from being a sugary drink. Orange wine is a style of winemaking that has been made for thousands of years, yet it has only recently made its resurgence and find a place on the shelves of so many natural wine bars and stores. Orange wines by their nature of production often overlap with the natural wine world, but it’s important to be aware that not every orange wine is a natural wine. In this class we will learn all the history and behind-the-scenes of making these wines and exploring different styles of orange wines through our tasting.
